PTFE Film is a high-performance fluoropolymer membrane skived or cast from 100 % virgin polytetrafluoroethylene resin. Its microporous, highly oriented structure delivers the lowest coefficient of friction of any solid film, together with universal chemical inertness and an extreme temperature envelope, making PTFE film the first-choice release, insulation, and barrier material in electronics, aerospace, composites, medical, and food-processing industries.

One of the key advantages of PTFE Film is its exceptional chemical resistance. The fully fluorinated backbone is virtually unaffected by acids, bases, oxidizers, solvents, fuels, or chlorinated agents across the entire 0-14 pH range, enabling safe contact with fuming HNO₃, HF, acetone, and strong caustics without swelling, discoloration, or loss of properties. Additionally, it maintains full mechanical integrity from cryogenic –200 °C to continuous +260 °C (short peaks to +300 °C), eliminating thermal degradation in solder-reflow or cryogenic lamination processes.
The ultra-smooth, hydrophobic surface (Ra ≤ 0.03 µm) provides non-stick release even from high-tack resins, adhesives, and food doughs, while the high dielectric strength (≥ 60 kV/mm) and low dissipation factor (10⁻⁴) make it ideal for flexible circuit insulation, cable wrapping, and transformer slot liners. These characteristics meet FDA, USP Class VI, and EU 10/2011 standards for direct food and medical device contact.
PTFE Film also offers outstanding UV and weathering resistance, retaining tensile strength after 20 000 h xenon-arc exposure, enabling long-term outdoor use in photovoltaic module backsheets and radar dome overlays. The material’s excellent flex-fatigue life allows repeated folding in printer fuser belts and medical pump diaphragms without pin-holing or cracking.
Another advantage is its thickness versatility. Standard gauges range from 6 µm to 500 µm in slit widths from 5 mm to 1 500 mm; anti-static, etched, pigmented, and micro-perforated grades are available for immediate bonding or color-coding without surface pre-treatment. The film can be heat-sealed, thermo-formed, or laser-cut into precision gaskets, seals, and stencils within seconds, eliminating curing or adhesive dwell time.
Overall, PTFE Film delivers unmatched release, dielectric, and thermal performance in the thinnest profiles, making it a reliable, maintenance-free solution for critical non-stick, electrical, and barrier applications in the most demanding high-tech and life-science environments.
